Sunday 18th April DIGBY FAIRWEATHER’S HALF-DOZEN - featuring some of Britain’s top jazz musicians.
TRUMPETER DIGBY FAIRWEATHER has received countless awards including ‘BBC Jazz Society’s Musician of the Year’ and many awards for his services to jazz’. He led the band for George Melly’s last concert here in 2006.
CRAIG MILVERTON On PIANO is widely recognised as ‘Britain’s greatest new-star pianist’ and he has played with many stars, including Acker Bilk; Terry Lightfoot & Van Morrison. TOM HILL On DOUBLE BASS has played with many top American bands including Les Brown’s legendary ‘Band of Renown’ and performed on Bob Hope’s Televison Hour. He is also a radio presenter and a well-known voice-over artist (including Tony the Tiger for Kellogg’s ‘Frosties’!) NICK MILLWARD on DRUMS is one of Britain’s top five drummers and currently dividing his time between Kenny Ball; the Half Dozen; Craig Millerton’s Trio and also regularly tours Europe with clarinettist Andy Cooper’s ‘Euro Top Eight’.
